sAs (aka Steve Sciallo) composes music that has a unique sonic quality quite unlike other instrumental "background music." Using commercially available loops, samples and his own creative input, sAs filters everything through his imaginative approach to song structure and musical interpretation. sAs has called Southern California home for over 30 years and holds a B.A. in Music Composition from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Numb Again, is the latest effort from native Californian sAs.

This evocative and sanguine collection of gently downtempo electronic songs, warm, sweet tempered beats and ambient textures echo sAs’ eclectic approach to musical composition.

These instrumental pieces are haunting and spartan. It's the sound of the world that lies beneath mind, perpetually shifting and pulsing with somatic activity.

 “I create electronic music that is highly accessible and imaginative without being cliché," sAs says from his studio in Thousand Oaks, CA. "I use sounds that would be familiar to most listeners but that are arranged and produced in novel and unexpected ways."

sAs continues, "The whole process of composing, producing, distributing and marketing music as an indie composer is really cool. I relate to the indie music culture in that it's heavily focused on musical self-expression rather than will it sell to a mass audience."
